Mount Nebo is significant because of its role in the Old Testament. Mount Nebo was where Moses lived out his final days and saw the Promised Land, which he would never enter. It is said that Moses’ body may be buried here. Mount Nebo is an elevated ridge located in Jordan, approximately 700 metres above sea level. Part of the Abarim mountain range, it is mentioned in the Bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land before his death. A Christian church from Byzantine times stands on the top of Mount Nebo. A serpentine cross sculpture atop Mount Nebo can be seen. It is symbolic of the miracle of the bronze serpent invoked by Moses in the wilderness and the cross upon which Jesus was crucified.

Welcome to the Baptismal site of Jesus here at the Jordan River. Many significant events from the Bible took place here. John the Baptist baptized many people here including Jesus. Israelites crossed the Jordan River into the Promised Land. There are many churches, on the other side of the river in the country of Jordan, marking these events. Just imagine all these events happening right here. We are on the holy ground. The river has remained a religious destination and a site for renewal of the baptisms.

Nazareth, historic city of Lower Galilee, in northern Israel; it is the largest Arab city of the country. In the New Testament Nazareth is associated with Jesus as his boyhood home, and in its synagogue he preached the sermon that led to his rejection by his fellow townsmen.
Nazareth is a city in Israel with biblical history. In the old city, the domed Basilica of the Annunciation is, some believe, where the angel Gabriel told Mary she would bear a child. St. Joseph’s Church is said to be the site of Joseph’s carpentry workshop. The underground Synagogue Church is reputedly where Jesus studied and prayed. Nazareth Village, an open-air museum, reconstructs daily life in Jesus’ era.

Capernaum the town of Jesus. Jesus spent time teaching and healing here. On a Sabbath day, Jesus taught in the synagogue in Capernaum and healed a man who was possessed by an unclean spirit. Jesus healed Simon Peter’s mother-in-law of a fever. This is also the place where Jesus healed the servant of a Roman centurion . Capernaum is the location of the healing of the paralytic lowered by friends through the roof to reach Jesus.

The Sea of Galilee, also called Lake Tiberias or Kinneret, is a freshwater lake in Israel. It is the lowest freshwater lake on Earth and the second-lowest lake in the world, with its elevation fluctuating between 215 and 209 metres below sea level. The Sea of Galilee was the scene of several famed acts of Jesus Christ. Here, the Messiah walked on water and calmed the storm including miraculous catch of the fish. It was also here (Tabgha) that Jesus fed thousands with five loaves and two fish.

Famous for its rock-cut architecture, the city is an important archaeological site and Jordan’s biggest tourist attraction. Petra is referred to as the “Rose City” because of the colour of the stones used in its buildings and was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.

Surrounded by ancient walls, the Old City is home to holy sites such as the Western Wall, Dome of the Rock Islamic shrine, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, which dates to the 4th century. Shops and markets selling prayer shawls, rosaries, and ceramics fill busy alleys, while food stalls serve falafel, pita, and fresh-squeezed juice. In a medieval citadel, the Tower of David museum chronicles the city’s history.

Via Dolorosa means “The Painful Path.” It’s the route Jesus walked as HE went from HIS trial before Pilate at Antonia’s Fortress to His crucifixion at Golgotha. Each pilgrim takes part in the station of the cross, carrying the cross at all the stations walking where Jesus walked once. Visit and experience the same.

Calvary or Golgotha is a site immediately outside Jerusalem’s walls where, according to Christianity’s four canonical gospels, Jesus was crucified. Since at least the early medieval period, it has been a destination for pilgrimage. This place is named Golgotha, “the place of the skull.” Most people think it derives its name from a rocky hill shaped like a skull. From ancient times, however, the church understood this as the place of Adam’s skull. Golgotha has two general options for its location. The traditional site is at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. This is the most significant and important event in Christian history. The mount where Jesus was crucified.

Known in the Bible as the ‘City of Palm-trees,’ Jericho was famous for its walls which were thirteen feet high with watch towers rising 28 feet, the first use of a wall for military defence in history. The city is also known for its springs. Jericho is a city in the West Bank, Palestine; it is the administrative seat of the Jericho Governorate of Palestine. Mount of Temptation, in Palestinian Arabic Jebel Quruntul, is a mountain over the city where Jesus was tempted by the satan. While Jesus fasted, the devil tempted him three times to prove his divinity by demonstrating his supernatural powers.

The Dead Sea is a large salt lake located in the Judean desert of southern Israel. It’s about 15 miles (25 km.) east of Jerusalem and is Israel’s largest body of water within its borders. The Dead Sea is one of the world’s four saltiest bodies of water. Because of its unique location, healing properties, geological and historical background, surrounding ecosystem, and the epic biblical events that have happened around it, the Dead Sea is an irresistible venue for tourists. One can easily swim in it and you float on it.

Welcome to Bethany. Many events from the Bible took place here. Jesus taught Martha, Mary’s sister, a major lesson about choosing priorities at Bethany. Bethany is where Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. When in Jerusalem, Jesus regularly stayed in Bethany. Most likely at the home of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus.

The Mount of Olives or Mount Olivet is a mountain ridge in East Jerusalem, east of and adjacent to Jerusalem’s Old City. It is named for the olive groves that once covered its slopes. Mount of Olives separates the Temple Mount, the most holy place in Judaism, from the Judean Desert. We know it to be the place from which Jesus the Messiah ascended into heaven.

At the foot of the Mount of Olives lies the Garden of Gethsemane. The Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane is an episode in the life of Jesus, which occurred after the Last Supper and before his betrayal and arrest, all part of the Passion of Jesus leading to his crucifixion and death. Early believers marked out this site soon after Jesus’ death and resurrection and venerated it. Here you can visit an oldest olive tree in the world amidst a beautiful church.

Welcome to the Holy Land and the biblical site of Bethlehem, located 6 miles (9 km.) south of Jerusalem. Bethlehem is in the West Bank but is very safe. Thousands visit its Christian sites each month with no issues. Bethlehem means “House of Bread.” Bethlehem is where King David lived before becoming King of Israel. The Church of the Nativity is located in Bethlehem, about 6 miles (9 km.) south of Jerusalem. This is where Jesus was born, and the Word became flesh. So, we will be seeing and experiencing the very place where Jesus was born. We’ll see evidence of the churches built over this site to commemorate this monumental event.

The Kidron Valley, also called the Valley of Jehoshaphat, lies between the Old City of Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives. Kidron Valley is the modern name of the valley originating slightly northeast of the Old City of Jerusalem, which then separates the Temple Mount from the Mount of Olives, and ending at the Dead Sea. It is also the place believed to be where Jesus was tempted by Satan to jump (Matthew 4:8) during His testing in the wilderness. The valley is also home to the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed the night before His Crucifixion.

Mount Tabor, rising like a dome-like mountain from the Plain of Jezreel, is the place where Christian tradition places the transfiguration of Jesus. Mount Tabor stands some 1,500 ft. (457 m.) above the Jezreel Valley plain in Lower Galilee. Together with Peter, James, and John, Jesus ascended to the peak of the mountain, and he was transfigured. During the transfiguration, Jesus began to radiate with a bright shining light, and then Moses and Elijah appeared. This occurrence alone makes Mount Tabor one of the most spiritual places today.

The Egyptian pyramids are ancient masonry structures located in modern Egypt. Most were built as tombs for the country’s pharaohs and their consorts during the Old and Middle Kingdom periods. The three largest are: the Pyramid of Menkaure, the Pyramid of Khafre and the Great Pyramid of Giza. The three smaller pyramids in the foreground are subsidiary structures associated with Menkaure’s pyramid. Pharaoh Khufu was the first Egyptian king to build a pyramid in Giza.
